    GCTU EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETS IN MOSCOW

    A meeting of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Trade Unions was held in Moscow on the 2d of April. It was opened by the opening speech and led by the President of the GCTU Alexander Korchagin.

    GCTU HOLDS CONGRESS IN MOSCOW «TOGETHER – FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE AND A DECENT LIFE». Wednesday, September 7, 2022

    The 9th Congress of the General Confederation of Trade Unions (GCTU) was held in Moscow’s Palace of Labour 7 September 2022. Attending the event were the delegates from the national trade union centres of the Newly Independent States and the industrial Trade Union Internationals (TUIs) representing about 30 million organised workers. Most of the delegates arrived in Moscow to participate in the Congress, and the rest of them took part in a videoconference.

    STATEMENT by the General Confederation of Trade Unions on the World Day for Decent Work 7 October 2021

    On the 7th of October 2021, or on the closest days around it, trade unions of all countries will once again observe the annual World Day for Decent Work (WDDW). The event provides a unique opportunity for global workers to speak out, almost universally, simultaneously and under common slogans, in defence of workers' rights, for the elimination of poverty and improving the living standards, and against all forms of discrimination, inequality, and social exclusion.
