Tuesday, April 16, 2024
A meeting of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Trade Unions was held in Moscow on the 2d of April. It was opened by the opening speech and led by the President of the GCTU Alexander Korchagin.

The issue of ratification and compliance with ILO conventions in the independent states of the region, where the member organizations of the GCTU operate, was considered.
The Executive Committee of the GCTU recommended national and international trade union industry associations not weaken their efforts to promote ratification and compliance with ILO conventions, acting in accordance with the situation in the country or industry. The monitoring work will continue with the provision of information to the Executive Committee. In general, trade unions should more actively use available prerequisites for the implementation of the widest possible list of international labor standards into national legislation.

The Executive Committee of the GCTU adopted:
– Statement of the GCTU in connection with World Labor Protection Day on April 28, 2024;
– The appeal of the GCTU in connection with the International Workers' Solidarity Day on May 1;
